RF550VPN/RF560VPN Reference Guide – Using Advanced Settings 16
Scenario Two
1. To access this screen, click the Filter Settings button on the left side of the Advanced Settings
screen. Then click on LAN Filter Settings.
2. Check the LAN Side Filter Enabled box to activate the filter and allow a list of users and permissions
to be created.
3. Select the Default LAN Side Filter: Block or Pass. For this example, set this to Pass. This means
that the LAN, as a whole, will have access to the WAN side of the RF550VPN/RF560VPN (i.e. The
Internet).
4. Select the client filter setting: Block or Pass. For this example, set this to Block. This means that
only the clients specified below in the IP Address Range will have controlled access to the WAN side
of the RF550VPN/RF560VPN, but only by using the Destination Port Range specified.
5. Select the protocol to be used from the Protocol drop-down list box: All, TCP or UDP. For this
example use All.
6. Enter the client IP Address Range. For this example we want only the Windows 2000 system at
192.168.2.100 to not have access to the WAN side of the RF550VPN/RF560VPN. Therefore, specify
the IP Address Range From: 192.168.2.100 To: 192.168.2.100.
7. Enter the client Destination Port Range. For this example we want access to the WAN side to be
blocked. Therefore, specify the Destination Port Range as 1 ~ 65535.
8. Click the Add button to display this entry at the lower part of the screen.
